Windsor Spitfires News Release
Rookie centre Eric Locke is the Precision Jewellers and Windsor Spitfires Player of the Month for November, as selected by the Spitfires coaching staff.
The 17-year-old centre enjoyed a breakout month, putting up nine goals and three assists for 12 points in 10 November games, leading the team to a 6-4 record.
On November 19th, Locke recorded his first career hat-trick, scoring three goals en route to a first star performance in Windsor's 7-4 road victory over the London Knights. Three nights later in Sault Ste. Marie, he scored a dramatic, game-tying goal with 17 seconds left in the third period and added two assists as he helped lead the Spitfires to an improbable 6-5 overtime victory against the Greyhounds. Locke registered one goal in Windsor's 5-2 road loss against the Saginaw Spirit on November 27th before finishing the month with his second hat-trick and first star performance, netting three goals in the Spitfires 7-2 victory against the Peterborough Petes at the WFCU Centre on November 28th.
Overall, Locke has played 26 games for Windsor this season and is ranked second amongst all OHL rookies, and on the Spitfires in goals scored (14). His 21 points are also good for seventh overall in the OHL's rookie scoring race.
Prior to the commencement of a future Spitfires home game, Locke will receive a Bulova watch from Dan Thomas of Precision Jewellers for his outstanding performance in November.
Tickets for all Spitfire home games can be purchased from the TekSavvy.com Box Office (Gate 2 at the WFCU Centre), by calling (519) 254-5000 or online at windsorspitfires.com.
