Rockland County - Equipe Quebec had three players knock in four runs apiece in a 13-9 slugfest victory over the New York Boulders on Thursday at Palisades Credit Union.
Jeffry Parra, Connor Panas and Jonathan Lacroix all drove in four runs to pace the Quebec attack as they took the rubber game of the three-game series.
Quebec led 9-6 after a wild first five innings. Quebec jumped in front 3-0 in the first frame on a three-run home run by Panas, his fourth long ball of the season. New York answered with an RBI double by Zach Kirtley in the bottom of the frame to cut their deficit to 3-1.
The Boulders moved in front 6-3 with a five-run fourth inning. After Gian Martellini doubled with one out, Marcus Mastrobuoni and Phil Caufield hit home runs on successive pitches off of Quebec starter David Gauthier. The home runs were the first of the season for each player. Later in the inning, Ryan Ramiz added two-run double, the hit ending Gauthier's night.
However, Quebec responded with a six-run top of the fifth inning that included a three-run homer from Parra, his seventh of the year, a two-run triple by Lacroix and a run-scoring single by Nathan Etheridge, and saw New York starter Ryan Munoz relieved by Ken Haus.
In the sixth, Parra made it 10-6 with a run-scoring single, his fourth RBI of the night.
The Boulders would get within a run at 10-9 with three runs in the bottom of the seventh - two coming on Ray Hernandez' two-run home run, number 12 on the year, and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jack Sundberg.
However, Quebec responded with three more runs in the top of the eighth on an RBI double by Panas and two on a single by Lacroix - the rally increasing their lead back to a comfortable 13-9.
Pablo Arevalo got the win for Quebec, squaring his season mark at 1-1, while Ryan Munoz fell to 0-2 with the loss.
