Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 8-1 Saturday in Boise. Utah was without goaltender Andrew Engelage who was again held out for precautionary reasons after coming up limp Friday during morning skate.

"Our skaters once again brought it," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "We missed Andrew in goal and obviously J.P. is called-up, but we didn't want to risk playing him until there is no chance involved of him getting injured."

Despite a tough weekend without their star goaltender, Utah enters the all-star break still atop the Mountain Division with a 23-16-3-1 record.

Tom May (5) scored Utah's lone goal in the second period on the power-play to extend his scoring streak to four games and his goal-scoring streak to three games. Tim Crowder and Brett Parnham picked up assists.

Marc Rinfret, who continued his amateur tryout, handled the goaltending for Utah in the absence of Engelage.

The Grizzlies return home Friday, January 28 with Ontario. It is Maverik Night, with all tickets in the arena available for $5 when fans present a receipt from Maverik at the arena box office.
