Energy Fall to Maine Red Claws

Portland, ME - The Iowa Energy (21-19) fell 124-93 to the Maine Red Claws (27-13) Friday night at the Portland Expo.

The Energy were led by Willie Reed with 26 points and 13 rebounds for his sixth straight double-double. Chris Allen added 19 points and five rebounds. The Red Claws were led by Romero Osby with 28 points and eight rebounds.

Chris Allen got the scoring going for the Energy coming out hot to start the game. Iowa opened up a seven-point lead during the quarter and held a 26-25 lead going into the second quarter. Maine came out in the second quarter and was on fire from behind the arc, hitting seven of ten three-pointers to open up a 21-point lead at halftime. Maine outscored the Energy 38-16 in the second quarter led by Omari Johnson with 13 points.

Maine continued to shoot the ball well from behind the arc with five more three-pointers in the third quarter. Willie Reed added ten points in the third, but the Energy were unable to chip away at Maine's lead. Iowa trailed 91-67 heading into the fourth. The Red Claws continued to pour it on with five more three-pointers in the fourth for a total of 19 in the game. Iowa shot .448 tonight from the field as they fell 124-93.

Iowa returns home from a four-game road trip on Friday, March 20 at 7pm against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Country Night.
