
Santa Cruz Continues Historic Streak with 11 Straight Wins

AUSTIN, TX - The Santa Cruz Warriors defeated the Austin Spurs 104-94 on Friday to improve to 30-13 on the season, clinching a third consecutive playoff berth. Today's victory extends the longest winning streak in franchise history with eleven consecutive wins.
Santa Cruz was led by Mychel Thompson and Darington Hobson who each recorded 21 points. Hobson (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Dominique Sutton (20 points, 10 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles, while Anthony Vereen scored a season-high of 19 points in his first start of the season.
The Spurs were paced by Kyle Anderson, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, who notched 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.
This tightly-contested game saw a total of 8 lead changes and 10 ties, demonstrating the tenacity of two of the top teams in the Western Conference. Both the Warriors and the Spurs held double-digit leads in the game.
Austin fought back from a 10-point deficit to edge the Warriors 55-51 heading into the break, and both squads would emerge from halftime to swap leads throughout the third quarter. The Warriors would hold onto the lead during the entirety of the fourth quarter, solidifying the historic win.
The Santa Cruz Warriors will travel to Rio Grande Valley on Sunday to take on the Vipers at 1:00 p.m. PST.
