Westchester Knicks News Release
ERIE, March 13, 2015 - In a battle that saw ten ties throughout the game, the Westchester Knicks (10-31), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, were unable to pull off the win over the Erie BayHawks (19-22), falling 106-98.
Westchester's gears were slow to start as they came off a quick turnaround from last night's win at home. Erie held the Knicks to just two points for the first three minutes, but Westchester tied it up midway thought the first and held on to the lead through the end of the quarter.
Erie then went on a 10-0 run, giving them as many in a lead, midway through the second. The Knicks brought it back within four, but still trailed by six 57-51 at the half. Doron Lamb, still hot from last night's 40 point show, led all scorers at the half with 14 points.
Westchester battled back to tie it up late in the third quarter, eventually taking the lead early in the fourth. Neither team, coming to blows and trading leads several times, wanted to give up the lead but the BayHawks would ultimately prevail, routing the Knicks 196-98.
Darnell Jackson paced Westchester with 20 points, securing the double-double with 10 rebounds. Doron Lamb finished with 18 points, also contributing five assists and four rebounds. Durrell Summers came off the bench to supply 17 points, while Ben Strong and Thanasis Antetokounmpo rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 and 10 points respectively. Erie's Peyton Silva led all scorers with 21 points, also contributing six assists. Austin Daye followed with 17 points, adding six rebounds and three assists. John Bohannon posted a double-double for the team with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
