Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

ELMIRA, New York - Steve Yetman's third goal of the night proved just enough as Elmira beat the Cincinnati Cyclones, 7-6, on Friday night at First Arena.

Elmira scored first, picking up Steve Yetman's fifth goal of the season at 2:49. The Cyclones leveled the scores at 8:20 when Michael Cohen buried his fifth score of the season from an end-to-end rush from Mark Van Guilder. Cincinnati grabbed a 2-1 edge at 11:06, when on the power play, Olivier Latendresse scored his tenth goal with a shot from the left point with Mitch Woods and Frederic St. Denis assisting. The Jackals tied the game at 2-2 at 13:38 when Kaleb Betts tallied his fourth goal of the season. The shots on goal in the opening stanza favored Elmira, 11-10.

Elmira gained a 3-2 lead at 2:58 of the second period when Brandon Scero netted his third goal of the season. Cincinnati evened the scores at 7:52 when Jimmy Kilpatrick fired home his fourth goal of the campaign, after stealing a puck in the Elmira end. The Jackals regained the lead at 9:51 when Tyler Donati collected his sixth goal on the power play. A shorthanded score by Pierre-Luc Faubert, the third of the season for him, at 13:23 gave the Jackals a two-goal edge. A little more than a minute later, at 14:52, Joe Ryan netted his first pro goal for Cincinnati from Michael Cohen. Ryan skated from the left point to the top of the right circle and shot the puck through traffic past netminder Mitch O'Keefe. The Jackals outshot Cincinnati, 10-7, in the period.

Elmira restored its two goal lead at 2:46 of the third period when Yetman picked up his second score of the night. Matt Syroczynski picked up his seventh goal of the season at 7:06 on the power play from Kilpatrick and Thomas Beauregard. The Cyclones tied the game at six apiece when Mark Van Guilder tallied his third score of the season from Ben Gordon at 16:12. Yetman's third goal of the night at 18:17 gave the win to the Jackals.

Kyle Gajewski stopped 20 shots for Cincinnati, which lost its second consecutive game after assembling a six-game unbeaten in regulation time stretch (4-0-2).

The goal by Latendresse extended his road goal scoring streak to a career-best four games.
