
Elmira Jackals Trade for Daniel Koger

ELMIRA, N.Y. - January 28, 2014 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have acquired forward Daniel Koger from the Toledo Walleye in exchange for future considerations. Additionally, Danny Hobbs was recalled by the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League, Scott Greenham was loaned to the Jackals by Binghamton and goalie Brad Phillips was traded to the Idaho Steelheads for future considerations.
Koger, 24, has produced nine points (4 goals, 5 assists) in 17 games with Toledo. He has notched two multi-point games for the Walleye including a four-point night with two goals and two assists on January 11 at Wheeling. The 6-foot-4 205-pound forward joined the Walleye after splitting last season between Florida, Bakersfield, and South Carolina. Combined he procured 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 67 games. During the 2011-12 season the Szekesfehervar, Hungary native saw time in 17 games in the American Hockey League split between St. John's, Providence, Milwaukee, and Hersey and notched two assists.
Koger is expected to join the Jackals in Fort Wayne and be available for this weekend's games against the Komets and Walleye.
Greenham has returned to the Jackals from Binghamton after earning his first AHL win on January 26 against Albany. The 6-foot-2 180-pound netminder posted 33 saves to defeat the Devils in his first AHL appearance since April 21, 2013. With the Jackals he is 6-11-2 on the season with a 3.08 goals-against average, and a .908 save percentage in 20 games.
Greenham is expected to join the Jackals and be available to play Wednesday night against the Kalamazoo Wings.
Hobbs, 23, heads to Binghamton with seven points (3 goals, 4 assists) in his last six games and a total of 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 38 games for the Jackals. This is the first call up to the AHL in Hobbs' two years as a pro.
Phillips heads to Idaho after logging 33 saves, a 5.30 goals-against-average, a 0.825 save percentage in two games for the Jackals.
