ECHL Announces Fine, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fine and suspensions.

Wheeling's Johnson suspended

Wheeling's Chaz Johnson has been suspended for eight games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #424, Wheeling at Cincinnati, on Jan. 25.

Johnson is suspended five games under Rule #70.10 - leaving the player's bench and three games as a result of his match penalty under Rule #46.15.

Johnson missed Wheeling's game against Cincinnati on Jan. 26 and will miss Wheeling's games vs. Fort Wayne (Jan. 29), vs. Kalamazoo (Jan. 31 and Feb. 1), at Reading (Feb. 8 and Feb. 9), vs. Toledo (Feb. 12) and vs. Reading (Feb. 14).

Cincinnati's MacDonald suspended

Cincinnati's David MacDonald has been suspended for two games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #424, Wheeling at Cincinnati, on Jan. 25.

MacDonald is suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

MacDonald missed Cincinnati's game at Wheeling on Jan. 26 and will miss Cincinnati's game vs. Reading on Jan. 29.

Florida's Landry suspended

Florida's Charles Landry has been suspended for four games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #428, Florida at South Carolina, on Jan. 25.

Landry was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #46.5 at 19:29 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Landry missed Florida's game at Orlando on Jan. 26 and will miss Florida's games vs. Greenville on Jan. 29, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

Greenville's Noreau fined, suspended

Greenville's Samuel Noreau has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #434, Greenville at Toledo, on Jan. 26.

Noreau was assessed a game misconduct under Rule #70.1 at 14:18 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Noreau will miss Greenville's games at Florida on Jan. 29 and Jan. 31.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
