(Toledo, OH) - Forwards Travis Novak and Alden Hirschfeld have been returned to the Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. The Griffins have also assigned goaltender Jared Coreau to Toledo. Toledo has traded forward Daniel Koger to the Elmira Jackals for future considerations. Toledo has traded defenseman Joe Sova to the Kalamazoo Wings for future considerations. Toledo has released goaltender Brooks Ostergard.
Novak appeared in three games this past weekend with the Griffins, collecting a goal and an assist. In 25 games this year with Toledo, he is second on the team in scoring with 23 points (8G, 15A).
In two games with the Griffins, Hirschfeld collected one assist. The native of Sylvania, Ohio has appeared in 35 games this year with Toledo scoring five goals with 17 assists, which places him third on the team in scoring.
Coreau returns to Toledo where he went 1-5-3 in games played earlier this season with a 4.42 goals against average and a .865 save percentage. In five appearances with the Griffins, the first year goaltender posted a record of 0-4-0 and a 4.39 GAA with a .873 SVP.
Koger has skated in 17 games this season with the Walleye with four goals and five assists. Sova had two goals and seven assists in the 23 contests he dressed for Toledo. Ostergard was Toledo's backup goaltender this weekend and did not appear in a game.
