Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (1/28/14) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced a trio of roster moves on Tuesday as goaltender Pat Nagle and forward Austin Fyten have each been recalled from the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads to the American Hockey League.
Nagle was recalled to Texas of the AHL while Fyten returns to Oklahoma City. Nagle leads the Steelheads with 11 wins between the pipes and ranks in the ECHL's top ten in save percentage (.920). Fyten has bounced back and forth between Idaho and Oklahoma City, netting nine goals in 15 games with the Steelheads.
In a third transaction, Idaho has acquired goaltender Brad Phillips from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for future considerations. Phillips, a 2007 draft pick of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, has played for three teams in the ECHL this season. Back in November, Phillips was the winning goaltender against Idaho when the Stockton Thunder defeated the Steelheads, 4-3, in overtime. In 17 total appearances, Phillips is 7-7-2 with a .902 save percentage.
The Steelheads have traveled to Anchorage for three games this week against the Alaska Aces. The games are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Sullivan Arena with each game beginning at 9:15 PM (Mtn). All three games can be heard on KTIK (1350 AM).
The team returns home on Wednesday, February 5, to host the Utah Grizzlies at CenturyLink Arena at 7 PM. Tickets are available online at www.idahosteelheads.com or by calling 208-331-8497.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim's Cascade Chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
