Tonight is the second of three scheduled meetings between the Jackals and Stingrays this season, and first of two at First Arena. The Jackals are 1-0-0 against South Carolina this season after claiming a come-from-behind 4-2 win in North Charleston on November 2. The Jackals will try tonight to improve on their all-time 2-4-1 home record against the Stingrays. It dropped below .500 as a result of going 1-3-0 against the Stingrays at home last season. In 2012-13 the Jackals are 2-0-0 against South Division opponents on home ice while South Carolina has gone 2-3-1 on the road against non-South Division opponents.

A big reason that Elmira has the best penalty kill in the league at 90.4 percent is that it doesn't spend much time in the penalty box. The Jackals' 72 minor penalties are tied for second fewest in the ECHL behind only Las Vegas (63). As a result of the low number of minor penalties, the Jackals have been shorthanded the second-fewest times in the league at 52 with only Las Vegas ahead of them (46). On average Elmira has been shorthanded slightly more at home (3.88 times per game) than it has on the road (2.83 times per game). Elmira does lead the league, though, in one penalty category; they have four game misconducts on the season.

Mark your calendars! The Jackals are back on First Arena ice on Saturday, November 24, 2012 to take on the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 p.m. The Jackals are hosting a T-Shirt Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans through the door courtesy of Big Fox. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for discounted tickets and preferred seating based on availability.Call 607-734-7825 to book your group outing. Pro-rated season ticket packages are on sale, as well. Season tickets offer the best value for Jackals fans.
