AT THE DISH: Alan Trejo was 3-for-3, missing the cycle by a single ... Ryan Vilade and Joshua Fuentes each doubled ... Ryan Castellani is now 6-for-11 on the season after going 1-for-2 with a run scored tonight.

TOEING THE RUBBER: Castellani (3-10, 6.86) made the start and took the loss giving up six hits and four runs (three in the fifth inning) in 4.1 frames ... Zac Rosscup and Tate Scioneaux each allowed two runs in two-third of an inning ... Rosscup tossed a pair of run-scoring wild pitches in a five-run fifth for the Chihuahuas.

TOPES TIDBITS: The loss means Albuquerque has dropped three straight games, because the victory in the first game of the modified twin bill goes into the books from July 6 ... Today was the latest date the Isotopes have ever played a regular season home game (previously 9/6/04) ... Albuquerque has surrendered four or more runs in a frame 47 times in 2021.

ON DECK: The Isotopes and Chihuahuas meet late Friday afternoon for a 5:00 PM first pitch at Rio Grande Credit Union Field. Orbit Bobbleheads will be given out to the first 2,700 fans and there will be postgame fireworks, weather permitting. Both promotions are presented by Eastern New Mexico University and the City of Portales. Right-hander Dereck Rodríguez (3-5, 7.79) is scheduled to start for Albuquerque against El Paso RHP Caleb Boushley (3-7, 5.50).
