Round Rock (32-32) sent 12 batters to the plate in an eight-run sixth inning to break open a close game and send the Albuquerque Isotopes (34-30) to a 12-6 defeat at Isotopes Park Sunday night. The decisive inning featured six singles, two walks, and was highlighted by a three-run homer off the bat of Express third baseman Mike Coolbaugh, his second of the game.

The two teams battled to a 3-3 tie through four innings. The ‘Topes, who never led in the contest, scored a run in the first on a wild pitch and two in the fourth on solo home runs by Josh Willingham and Derek Wathan. Willingham, who entered play tied with Fresno's Todd Linden for the Pacific Coast League's lead in home runs, pulled his 19th round-tripper of the year into the picnic area over the fence in left field while Wathan's first homer of the season cleared the fence in right. Jason Wood added the Isotopes' third solo home run of the night in the ninth inning.

Albuquerque starter Jeff Fulchino (4-6) took the loss after allowing seven runs on 10 hits through 5.1 innings. Brandon Duckworth (1-2) picked up the win after allowing three runs in five frames. Coolbaugh, who also homered in the second inning, drove in four runs for the Express, who banged out 18 hits as a team.

Albuquerque will begin an eight-game road trip when it opens a four-game series at Nashville Monday night at 6 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Nate Bump (No Record) is slated to start for the Isotopes against Sounds righty Justin Lehr (5-5, 6.38).

Make plans to come out the Dukes Retro Night at Isotopes Park when the ‘Topes host Nashville on Wednesday, June 22. Former Dukes players will be on hand for the special event. Tickets are available at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at local Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com, and Ticketmaster by phone at 883-7800.
