Sidewinders return to Tucson to host Salt Lake and Portland

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sidewinders will return home to Tucson Electric Park after the team's current 4-game roadtrip to host the Salt Lake Stingers (Angels) and Portland Beavers (Padres) during the team's fifth homestand of the season beginning Monday, June 13th at 7:00 p.m. Heading into today's action the second place Sidewinders sit just a half game out of first place behind the Sacramento RiverCats.

The recently recalled OF Scott Hairston was honored by the Pacific Coast League as the player of the week during the team's last homestand after belting six home runs, driving in 10 runs, while batting at a .406 for the week of May 30-June 5. Hairston was the second Sidewinder to earn the honor this season after RHP Edgar Gonzalez received Pitcher of the Week honors in mid-May.

Several Sidewinders find themselves among the PCL leaderboards heading in today's action, including 1B Conor Jackson who ranks 2nd in AVG (.381), 1st in H (80) and in 2B (23), 2nd in OBP (.450), and T5th in RBI (48). 2B Andy Green ranks T2nd in 3B (6), T5th in H (73) and 5th in R (47). RF Carlos Quentin ranks 4th in OBP (.444). RHP Edgar Gonzalez ranks 7th in ERA (3.00), T4th in IP (78), and T5th in W (6).

The homestand will feature Military Appreciation Night in coordination with Sleepover Night on June 17th's Fireworks Friday in addition to a 3-day Family Fun Fest from June 17-19. The 8-gamer will also include two Margaritaville Mondays and the ever popular Thirsty Thursday.
