Edmonton Reassigns Center Milan Kytnar to Thunder

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announced Edmonton has reassigned center Milan Kytnar (KIT-nar, MEE-lan) to the Thunder from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

The 6-foot and 190 pound forward is expected to return to the Thunder lineup on Friday at Stockton Arena, in a 7:30 p.m. (1280 KWSX/StocktonThunder.com) game against the Alaska Aces.

Kytnar, 22, became the eighth player to make his NHL debut after suiting up for the Thunder on Jan. 11 against New Jersey. He accomplished the feat before a national TV audience on TSN. He has scored eight points (5g-3a) and a +4 rating in 14 games with the Thunder.

Kytnar has also appeared in 91 career AHL games with the Barons, scoring 32 points (14g-18a) while notching a +5 rating. This year, he has collected three points (1g-2a) and four penalty minutes in 13 AHL games.

The native of Topolcany, Slovakia suited up in 172 career junior games with Kelowna, Saskatoon and Vancouver of the Western Hockey League, scoring 126 points (50g-76a) while totaling 197 penalty minutes and a +28 rating.

Kytnar was originally selected by Edmonton in the fifth round (127th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
