
Earthquakes Host Sporting Kansas City Today

San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (3-5-4; 13 pts.) will host Sporting Kansas City (3-7-3; 12 pts.) at PayPal Park today at 4:30 p.m. PT, presented by Adobe. The match will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 (English), and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).
The Quakes are 5-1-1 in seven matches in all competitions (3-1-1 in MLS play) under interim head coach Alex Covelo, including a perfect 4-0-0 record at home (3-0-0 in MLS play). San Jose is coming off a 3-2 victory over the Portland Timbers on Wednesday in which midfielder Jamiro Monteiro was named the MLS Player of the Week after scoring two goals, including the game-winner.
Forward Jeremy Ebobisse is tied for second in MLS with seven goals, while midfielders Cristian Espinoza and Jan Gregus are tied for second in MLS with six assists apiece.
Sporting KC is currently in 13th place in the Western Conference, one point below the Earthquakes. Sporting KC snapped a seven-match winless streak (0-4-3) with a Wednesday night home victory over the Colorado Rapids. During the victory, defender Andreu Fontás and forward Dániel Sallói, the club's leading scorer, both received red cards and will be suspended for Sunday's match.
