Eakin Selected to Team WHL

Calgary AB., - The Western Hockey League has announced that Swift Current Broncos' forward Cody Eakin has been selected to Team WHL for the upcoming Subway Super Series between the Canadian Hockey League and Russia.

Eakin will play in Prince George on Thursday November 18th. This season Eakin has 7 goals and 5 assists for 12 points in 10 games played. Currently Eakin is 2nd in the WHL in power play goals with 5. Last season Eakin finished tied for 3rd in WHL goal scoring with 47 goals.

This year's Subway Super Series will take place November 8th to 18th starting in Saint John, NB and ending in Prince George, BC. All of the games in the Subway Super Series will be broadcast nationally on Rogers Sportsnet. The Subway Super Series is an integral part of the evaluation process prior to Team Canada's final selection camp in December. This season Canada will be competing for their 13th straight medal at the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship in Buffalo, NY.
