Colorado Eagles News Release

(Boise, ID) - Colorado threw 28 shots on net, but were turned aside each time by Idaho goaltender Jack Campbell who earned his first shutout of the season in a 1-0 Steelheads victory. Eagles goalie Eric Levine had another very solid night in net, stopping 23 of the Steelheads 24 shots in the contest.

Idaho forward Emil Molin scored the game's lone goal, as he took a pass in the high slot and fired it past Eagles goaltender Eric Levine to give the Steeheads a 1-0 advantage 8:01 into the opening frame. Idaho would outshoot Colorado 12-10 in the first period and carry that 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Both netminders stood tall in the second period with Levine making seven saves on seven shots, while Campbell turned aside all 10 shots he faced in the period.

Moving into the final frame of regulation, Colorado put together a frenetic series of chances, but were thwarted by Campbell and the Steelheads penalty kill, which went a perfect 5-for-5 on the night. Colorado outshot Idaho 28-24 and held Idaho to an 0-for-4 mark on the penalty kill in the loss.

The Eagles will continue their six-game roadtrip on Saturday, January 8th when they travel to Allen to take on the defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champions.

Tickets for groups of 15 or more start at just $14 per seat and can be purchased by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468).
