Diaby and Thiessen Recalled

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced that defenseman Jonathan Diaby (Milwaukee Admirals), and goaltender Brad Thiessen (Lake Erie Monsters) have been recalled by their respective American Hockey League (AHL) clubs.

This will be the second stint in Milwaukee this season for Diaby, who skated in two games for the Admirals, however did not register a point. A 2013, third round selection of the Nashville Predators, Diaby has appeared in 17 games this season for the Cyclones, totaling an assist and 11 penalty minutes.

Thiessen, who was just reassigned by Lake Erie on Wednesday, heads to Lake Erie for the second time this season, after posting an 18-save shutout in Friday night's 4-0 win over the Toledo Walleye. He appeared in two games for the Monsters earlier this season, posting a 2.60 goals-against average, and an .850 save percentage.

The Aldergrove, BC, native is amongst the top goaltenders in the ECHL this season, posting a 8-3-1-2 record, and currently ranking third in the League with a 0.935 save percentage, and fifth with a 1.86 goals-against average. He has allowed 27 goals in 15 ECHL starts this season, and has allowed more than two goals on just three occasions.

In a pair of separate transactions, the Cyclones have signed forward Connor Toomey, and defenseman Jeremy Gates. Toomey, a rookie from Billerica, MA, made his Cyclones debut in Friday's 4-0 win over the Toledo Walleye.

He appeared in 20 games with the Macon Mayhem and Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), accounting for six goals and 14 assists between the two teams. He averaged two points per game in three games with the Rivermen, accounting for three goals and three assists.

Gates also comes from the SPHL, skating in 21 games for the Pensacola Ice Flyers, accounting for four goals and 12 assists in that time.

A native of Jackson, MI, Gates has seen time in the ECHL before, spending parts of the last three seasons with the Fort Wayne Komets and Rapid City Rush. In 66 career ECHL games, the 28-year-old rearguard has accounted for three goals and 16 assists, along with 19 penalty minutes.
