KALAMAZOO, MI - January 2, 2016 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, look to open 2016 with success against the Kalamazoo Wings in their final meeting this season.

MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP
The Jackals open 2016 in Kalamazoo with their fifth and final meeting of the season against the Wings. Tonight's contest marks the second of two matchups at the Wings Event Center. These two teams met on New Years Eve in the Jackals first visit to Kalamazoo since November 8, 2014. Despite a multi-point effort by Mike Seidel and goals from Taylor Stefishen and Allan McPherson the Jackals fell to the Wings 5-3. The Jackals last win in Kalamazoo came on January 16, 2013. Earlier this season, the Jackals won two of the previous three meetings during a three-game in four-day stretch at First Arena December 2-5. Jacob MacDonald scored shorthanded goals in the first two meetings with the Wings. Allan McPherson leads the Jackals against the Wings with six points (three goals, three assists).
