Indy Fuel News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - A penalty-filled affair went the way of the Wichita Thunder on Saturday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum by a score of 2-1.

Anders Franzon opened the scoring for the Fuel (14-18-2-0) with his first of the season just 4:16 into the game, but the Thunder (8-20-1-3) replied at 12:22 on Martin Nemcik's first North American pro goal.

Logan Nelson netted the game-winning goal off a facecoff in the Fuel end at 2:41 of the second period. Kenton Miller won a faceoff to the right of Mac Carruth (24 saves) and tied up the Fuel center, allowing Nelson to grab the puck and score high on the stick side with a wrist shot from the circle.

Jeff Shantz earned the win with 22 saves for Wichita.

Up next for the Fuel will be a Friday/Saturday set at home with the Evansville IceMen, followed by a Sunday road game in Wheeling against the Nailers. The Morellis Cleaners Pre-game Show starts 15 minutes before every puck drop on CBS Sports 1430.

- With Franzon scoring only Patrick Koudys and Derek Roehl have yet to score for the Fuel this season. Koudys' next goal will be his first professional goal.

- The win was only Wichita's third road win of the season and snapped a six-game winless skid for the club.

- Wichita's bus driver and former minor league goaltender Kevin St. Pierre suited up as the Thunder backup in the game after Grant Rollheiser suffered a lower body injury in the team's last game at Missouri December 31.

Single-game tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster or at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office, while a variety of different ticket plans and group specials are available by calling (317) 925-FUEL or visiting IndyFuelHockey.com.
