
Eagles Camp to Begin Monday

Windsor, CO â The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League (CHL) will begin their 2003-04 inaugural season Monday, October 6 when the Eagles open training camp at the Budweiser Events Center.
The Eagles will hit the ice Monday, October 6 through Sunday, October 12 at 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 7 the Eagles will host a party at the Budweiser Events Center for Season Ticket Holders to pick up their tickets. The party will begin at 4:30 p.m. and Season Ticket Holders will be able to watch the Eagles play an inter-squad game will enjoying snacks and beverages. Wednesday, October 8 the Eagles will play an inter-squad game at the Ikon Center in Cheyenne. Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 the Eagles will take on division rival, Oklahoma City Blazers, in two preseason games beginning at 7:05.
Saturday, October 11 will be the first annual "Fire and Ice" game when the Colorado Eagles "Douse the Blazers" to benefit the Burn Center of Northern Colorado and firefighters throughout Northern Colorado. One dollar of every ticket purchased at the game will go to the burn center and firefighters will "Pass the Boot" at the game and all proceeds raised will benefit Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, and Windsor/Severance fire stations. Two hours prior to the start of the game (5:00 p.m.) families can come to the Budweiser Events Center to meet firefighters, Colorado Eagles mascot, Slapshot, and children will be able to climb aboard fire engines and learn about fire safety. Throughout the game, fire safety information will be available on the concourse level.
"We are looking very forward to the first ever âFire and Ice' game," stated Jerry Ward, Fire Chief for the Windsor/Severance District. "I think that the tie between the firefighters and the Colorado Eagles is wonderful for the community of Northern Colorado as well as for the charities that will benefit from this partnership."
The Colorado Eagles will host 27 players at their inaugural 2003-04 training camp. After the two preseason games Head Coach Chris Stewart will narrow the roster to 20 players for the team's first official game October 17 against the Tulsa Oilers. Following the Tulsa game Stewart will make another two cuts and leave for the Colorado Eagles first road trip with 18 players.
If there are season ticket holders that will not be able to attend the party October 7 at 4:30 p.m. to pick up their tickets they can call the Colorado Eagles front office at (970) 686-SHOT to make other arrangements.

Ticket prices for the Colorado Eagles two pre-season games against their division rival, Oklahoma City Blazers, are $12.50. The Colorado Eagles will be offering special group rates for the exhibition games. Groups of 15 or more will be able to purchase tickets for $10 per seat. Single game tickets are also available at Club Level for $21. Only single seats remain for the Colorado Eagles first official game October 17 against division rival, the Tulsa Oilers.
