
Chiefs Re-Sign Hildenbrand and Mather/ Sign Former Flame Kelly and Rookie Caudill

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that they have re-signed centers Steve Hildenbrand (Hill-din-brand) and Shawn Mather (MAY-ther). The Chiefs have also signed former Saint John Flames center Brent Kelly and rookie left wing K.C. Caudill (KAW-dill).
Hildenbrand, 22, was the only player to appear in all 72 games for the Chiefs last season. The 5'10, 180 LBS native of Belle River, ONT had 11 goals and 41 points in his rookie campaign. Prior to joining the Chiefs, Hildenbrand played two seasons for the Windsor Spitfires (OHL) where he scored 37 goals and 116 points in 111 games. Hildenbrand attended Miami (Ohio) University in 1999-00 where he saw action in 34 games. He is currently attending training camp with the AHL's Rochester Americans.
Mather, 23, spent the majority of last season with the Saint John Flames (AHL) where he scored 2 goals and 5 points in 40 games. Mather joined the Chiefs for the final 16 games last season where he had 3 goals and 8 points. Mather began his professional career with the New Orleans Brass (ECHL) in 2001-02 where he scored 19 goals and 25 assists in 71 games. The 5'10, 190 LBS native of Chatham, ONT played two OHL seasons with Windsor, and attended one year at Michigan State University.
Kelly, 21, spent all of last season with Saint John where he scored 6 goals and 17 points. The 6'0, 190 LBS native of Kitchener, ONT played four seasons in the OHL between Guelph, and Sault Ste. Marie. In 2001-02, Kelly scored 38 goals and 70 points with Sault Ste. Marie. From 1998-2001, Kelly starred for Guelph scoring 48 goals and 134 points over 165 games with the Storm.
Both Mather and Kelly are currently attending training camp with the AHL's Cleveland Barons.
Caudill, 24, played the last four seasons at Ferris State University. Last season, he scored 4 goals and 9 points in 40 games. In 79 career games with Ferris State, he scored 5 goals and 14 points. The 6'3, 200 LBS native of Tustin, CA played his junior hockey with Des Moines of the USHL.
