Traverse City, MI - On Father's Day, the (13-6) Traverse City Pit Spitters donned the Northern Michigan Dune Bears jerseys and fell 3-0 to the (11-9) Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
Jeremy Neff (2-1, 1.64) was dominant through his first five innings. He immediately erased a leadoff single to start the game, getting a double play on the next batter, the start of 11 straight retired. He gave up a walk to start the fifth but got the next three batters out. His only blemish was a solo home run in the top of the sixth. He finished the day giving up just the one run on three hits, striking out four.
Five different relievers worked one scoreless inning apiece to hand the Pit Spitters their second home loss of the season. Daniel Frake (1-0, 5.06) got the win with a scoreless fifth. Brayden Bonner got his second save of the season, surrendering just one baserunner in the ninth.
Wyatt Rush pitched a perfect seventh and Max Bergmann struck out a season-high four batters out of the bullpen across the last two innings.
Michael Stygles recorded two of the four hits, a single in his first and last at-bats. His hit streak is now four games.
