TULSA, Ok. - The Tulsa Drillers (25-20, 62-52) took the series finale from the Springfield Cardinals (21-24, 51-64), 9-3, on Wednesday night.

DECISIONS:

W: RHP Markus Solbach (1-1)

L: RHP Johan Oviedo (5-6)

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:

-For the third straight game, the Drillers scored first in the first inning, this time rattling off four runs to open a 4-0 lead.

-The Cardinals got three runs back in the top of the third, which opened with a solo home run to right field from CF Conner Capel. Later in the frame with two on and two down, Tulsa LF Carlos Rincon dropped a fly ball hit by 1B Yariel Gonzalez with the error allowing SS Rayder Ascanio and RF Justin Toerner to score and make it just a 4-3 Tulsa lead.

-Drillers CF Donovan Casey padded the lead back to two runs, 5-3, with a solo home run in the bottom of the third.

-Tulsa kept adding to their lead with an RBI single from C Steve Berman in the fifth and back-to-back homers from SS Omar Estevez (two-run) and 1B Chris Parmelee (solo) in the sixth, making it 9-3.

NOTABLES:

-CF Conner Capel's home run marked his ninth of the year.

-3B Elehuris Montero went 1x4 to reach base safely in all three games of the series.

-RHP Connor Jones tossed a pair of scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth.
