Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the South Bend Silver Hawks (affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) in the first game of a three-game series. The Dragons began the current road trip by splitting a four-game series at West Michigan.

Last Game : Dayton defeated West Michigan 4-1 on Sunday afternoon in Comstock Park, Michigan. Dragons starting pitcher Sal Romano fired six scoreless innings without allowing a runner past first base.

Individual Notes

- Brent Peterson produced hits in his first six at-bats of the season. He has played in two of the Dragons four games, going 6 for 7, .857.

- Carlos Sanchez has hit safely in all three games he has appeared in, going 5 for 11, .455.

- Jesse Winker, Jeff Gelalich, Seth Mejias-Brean, and Junior Arias have played every inning for the Dragons in 2013.

Team Notes

The Dragons have won their last two games by a combined score of 12-4 after losing their first two games by a combined score of 13-6.

In the Dragons last two games, Dragons starting pitchers combined to allow one run in 12 innings on six hits with one walk and 14 strikeouts.

The Dragons have reached double figures in hits in each of the last two games after collecting nine hits over their first two games combined.

All 13 position players on the Dragons roster started at least one game in the series at West Michigan. Every pitcher on the staff except #5 starter Wandy Peralta (tonight's starter) saw action in the series.

Dragons pitchers lead the league in strikeouts (44, 35.1 innings) while Dragons batters have struck out only 23 times (second fewest in MWL).

The Dragons are the only Midwest League team that was not charged with a wild pitch in the first series of the year.

The Dragons have gone 5 for 15 (.333) with men in scoring position over their last 10 innings after going 2 for 21 over the first 27 innings of the season in those situations.

The Dragons opening day roster includes eight players from NCAA Division I programs, one player from a junior college program, seven players signed out of high school, and nine players signed as international free agents (five from the Dominican Republic; four from Venezuela).

Home Opener : The Dragons home opener at Fifth Third Field is Thursday, April 11 vs. the Great Lakes Loons at 7:05 p.m. in the start to a four-game series. The game will be televised on WHIO Digital Channel 7.2 (Time Warner channels 23 and 372).
