Dragons Announce 2020 Schedule

DAYTON, OHIO- The Dayton Dragons today announced their game schedule for the 2020 season, the Dragons 21st year in the Midwest League.

The Dragons will open the 2020 Midwest League season at home on Thursday, April 9 when they host the Great Lakes Loons at 7:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Field. This will be the first of 70 Dragons home games in 2020.

The Dragons will again play a 140-game schedule. The final home game is scheduled for Thursday, September 3 and the regular season will conclude on Monday, September 7.

The 2020 home schedule will feature the Dragons signature family entertainment skits, contests, and sing-a-longs as well as visiting national entertainment acts. The schedule will also include seven fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Fireworks dates are April 24, May 8, May 23, June 6, June 13, August 1, and August 28. Additionally, the Dragons will also be home on July 3, allowing fans to view the annual City of Dayton Fireworks Spectacular after the game.

The Dragons will be home for the Memorial Day weekend. They will host the West Michigan Whitecaps in a Saturday-Monday series, May 23-25.

All home game times have been set for the 2020 season. All Monday through Saturday games will start at 7:00 p.m. except for Saturday games in April (April 11 and April 25), which will feature special start times of 2:00 p.m.; and the Memorial Day game (Monday, May 25), which will start at 2:00 p.m. All Sunday games will start at 2:00 p.m. except for May 17 and May 24. The May 17 contest will start at 4:00 p.m. to meet Midwest League rules related to earliest possible start time for the first game of a series. The Dragons will open a three-game series on that date against the Lake County Captains. The game on Sunday, May 24 (day before Memorial Day) will start at 7:00 p.m.

The 2020 season will be the 119th year of Minor League Baseball and the 74th season for the Midwest League.

The Midwest League features two eight-team divisions and includes teams from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
