Tyler Suffers First Loss of Season, 4-1 to QC

Kyle Tyler suffered his first loss of the season as Burlington fell to Quad Cities 4-1 Tuesday night.

The Bees rapped out 9 hits but could not get the ones they needed. Burlington stranded runners in scoring position in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th innings. The team was a combined 1-14 with runners on second or beyond.

Connor Fitzsimons drove in Harrison Wenson in the fifth with a sacrifice fly for the Bees only tally. Wenson lead off the inning with a double. He moved to third on a Ryan Vega single. Fitzsimons and Justin Jones also had doubles in the game.

Tyler's record is now 6-1. He is 3rd in the league in ERA (2.83), 2nd in average against (.194), 4th in WHIP (1.04) and 2nd in winning percentage (.860). Tuesday's runs were the first he has allowed in his last 21 innings.

The Bees and Bandits take up the series Wednesday evening at 6:30 in the Quad Cities at Modern Woodman Park.
