'Dogs Pull Away with 6th-Inning Hit Parade

LINCOLN -- The Saltdogs (13-9) exploded for a half-dozen in the sixth to rout the Laredo Lemurs (12-10) 12-4 in front of 3,261 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.

The first seven men either singled or doubled as the 'Dogs blew the game open, making it 12-3 in the sixth.

Ryan O'Sullivan (1-1) pitched six innings, allowing three runs on five hits while walking five and fanning three to earn the win.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom of the third, the 'Dogs scored four unearned runs off four hits and three Laredo errors to take a 6-3 lead.

Rene Leveret drove in three runs and Luis Alen and Freddy Flores each brought home a pair.

For the second straight night, Saltdogs center fielder Chase Harris threw out a runner at third base.

The series continues Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. RHP Lindsey Caughel is expected to face RHP Troy Marks.
