RailCats Allow 16 Hits, Lose 12-3

GARY, IN- The Gary SouthShore RailCats were outhit by 10 on the way to a 12-3 loss to the Sioux City Explorers. The RailCats (10-13) committed a season-high four errors and fell down in the series 2-0 to the X's (12-10).

Karl Triana logged a quality start with 6.0 innings giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out seven. Cody Forsythe earned the win and went 5.2 innings allowing two runs while striking out six.

The RailCats hitting woes continued as they only mustered six hits. Manny Arciniega pitched a season-high 3.0 innings of relief and allowed eight runs (three earned) on 10 hits. The Cats' four errors were all committed by the infield.

Alex Crosby conitnued his strong homestand and went 2-3 with a run and walk.

Alex Gunn starts tomorrow for the RailCats who look to avoid being swept by the X's. First pitch is at 2:10 and the coverage begins at 1:45 on WEFM and railcatsbaseball.com.
