Mankato MoonDogs News Release

The MoonDogs looked to keep things moving in the last matchup against the Willmar Stingers this year.

Max Hansmann would take the mound for the MoonDogs in his debut this summer. The Stingers would place some early pressure on the MoonDogs getting one across the board early in the first.

The MoonDogs and Stingers would trade scoreless innings until the fourth when the Stingers would break it open with a solo home run and a two-run home run. This would cause the MoonDogs to look into the bullpen to see what they could do.

Brady Routon would come in for relief and pitch a clean inning for the MoonDogs keeping them in the game.

The MoonDogs would look to get the bats going. The Stingers would put two on the bases with walks before Jake Duer would send one bouncing off the MSU sign behind the 339-distance sign.

The Stingers would not let that go as they would respond the next inning scoring three runs themselves. The MoonDogs would try to get those runs back but would fall short with Brendan Hord getting home on a wild pitch for the only run of the inning.

Kai Roberts would keep his hot streak going with a bomb deep into center field scoring two and pulling the dogs within one. Ian Culver would come in looking to give the MoonDogs a chance at coming back and getting a second walk off against the Stingers.

The MoonDogs would look to get this game back loading the bases with one out before an untimely double play would end the night for the MoonDogs as they drop a critical game needed to get back into the thick of things in the second half.

Join us tomorrow as the MoonDogs get back at it at ISG Field with a 6:35 P.M. first pitch.
