Oklahoma City Comets News Release

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored two runs in the eighth inning on the way to a 3-2 come-from-behind win against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Sunday afternoon to remain undefeated at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark this season.

The Dodgers trailed, 2-1, entering the eighth inning after Colorado Springs starting pitcher Corbin Burnes put together seven strong frames while racking up 13 strikeouts.

After Burnes exited the game, the Dodgers scored two late runs as they went on to win for a sixth time at home when trailing in the eighth inning or later.

The Dodgers improved to 15-0 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark this season for their best-ever home start since the ballpark opened in 1998. Their 15 straight home wins also mark the second-longest home winning streak ever for an Oklahoma City squad since the team rejoined the PCL in 1998.

Oklahoma City paces the PCL with a 22-6 record overall this season for their best start through 28 games since 1998.

The Dodgers quickly took the game's first lead in the first inning in front of a crowd of 4,691 Sunday.

Jake Peter led off for OKC and swung on the first pitch, drilling a home run out to center field for a 1-0 Dodgers lead. It marked the first leadoff homer for the Dodgers since Tim Locastro led off the first game of an Aug. 16, 2017 doubleheader at Omaha with a homer.

Ji-Man Choi answered for the Sky Sox with a homer out to left field to tie the game, 1-1, in the second inning.

The Sky Sox (18-11) then added a run in the third inning on a RBI single by Tyrone Taylor to take a 2-1 lead.

The Dodgers have now trailed at some point in nine of their 15 home games this season, including eight of the last 12.

Burnes held the Dodgers to four hits over 7.0 innings, retiring 20 of the 24 batters he faced after the leadoff homer.

His career-high 13 strikeouts also marked the most by the Dodgers' offense in a single game this season.

Reliever Radhames Liz (2-2) pitched the eighth inning for the Sky Sox and was charged with the loss, allowing two runs and two hits with one walk.

Michael Ahmed led off for Oklahoma City in the eighth inning with a double to the wall in center field and Rob Segedin followed with a walk.

A wild pitch advanced the runners and Peter followed with a RBI groundout to tie the game, 2-2, and advance Segedin to third base.

Donovan Solano followed with a RBI single to center for a 3-2 OKC advantage as he collected his team-leading 12th multi-hit game of the season.

Dodgers starting pitcher Justin DeFratus put together the longest outing for an Oklahoma City pitcher this season, allowing two runs and six hits over 7.0 innings with one walk and six strikeouts.

Reliever Scott Alexander (1-0) pitched a perfect eighth inning and was credited with the win.

Brian Schlitter entered the game to pitch in the top of the ninth inning for Oklahoma City and allowed one hit on the way to his league-leading eighth save of the season.

OKC's four-game series against Colorado Springs wraps up on a Field Trip Day at 11:05 a.m. Monday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Live coverage begins 15 minutes before first pitch on AM 1340 "The Game," 1340thegame.com, or through the free iHeartRadio mobile app.
