
Chihuahuas Bested in High-Scoring Contest

The Albuquerque Isotopes beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 14-12 Sunday in a slugfest that had 34 combined hits and seven home runs. Both teams hit a grand slam.
The Chihuahuas trailed 8-2 in the top of the fifth when they batted around and scored six runs, their third comeback of six runs or more this season. Dusty Coleman went 2-for-5 with four RBIs on the Chihuahuas' second grand slam of the season. Diego Goris and Luis Urias collected four hits each, including a home run by both.
Franmil Reyes homered in his fifth straight game, has eight home runs in his last five games and leads all of Minor League Baseball with 13 this season. Reyes has compiled four straight three-hit games, six straight multi-hit games and has a .696 batting average in May.
The Chihuahuas set a season high with 18 hits Sunday. It was the first time all season the Chihuahuas lost in a game in which they outhit their opponent. Reyes and Goris hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, El Paso's first set of back-to-back homers since April 7 at Las Vegas (Brett Nicholas and Javy Guerra).
