DiPietro Recalled, Letang Reassigned to Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Goaltender Rick DiPietro by the Islanders, as well as the reassignment of Defenseman Alan Letang to the team by the Islanders.

The Sound Tigers have also announced the reassignment of Defensemen Daniel Tetrault and Dustin Wood to the East Coast Hockey League's Trenton Titans and the signing of Goaltender Jim Sanca to a professional tryout contract.

The Sound Tigers will visit the Springfield Falcons today at 4:05 p.m. and will return home to host Springfield next Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators next Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for "Islanders Appreciation Weekend".. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 AM and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM also broadcasts road games.
