Game Notes: The Rochester Americans host the Albany River Rats tonight at The Blue Cross Arena on IKON Office Solutions Night... The game is the sixth and final meeting between the two teams... The Amerks are only 1-2-2 against the fifth place team in the East Division... Tonight's game will be broadcast on WHAM 1180-AM and on the web at www.amerks.com.
Amerks Notes: Rochester is coming off a 3-0 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs last night... The Amerks (24-26-13-4, 65 points) enter the contest in second place in the Central Division, and in ninth place in the Western Conference playoff race... Chris Taylor leads the Amerks with 66 points (12+54)... He is tied for fifth in points in the AHL and leads the league with 54 assists in 57 games... Sean McMorrow is second in the AHL with 279 penalty minutes.
We want the Cup: The American Hockey League's Calder Cup 2003 Tour makes a stop in Rochester today, as the Amerks host the Albany River Rats at 6:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial... Rochester has won the coveted league championship trophy six times in its history (1965, 1966, 1968, 1983, 1987 and 1996)... The Amerks last captured the Calder Cup in 1996, defeating the Portland Pirates in seven games... The Calder Cup will be displayed in the main atrium lobby of The Blue Cross Arena... Fans can see one of the oldest trophies in North American sports when the gates open at 5:05 p.m.
River Rats Notes: Albany (21-31-8-6, 56 points) enters the game as the fifth place team in the East Division... The River Rats are coming off a 6-3 win at Hartford last night... Greg Crozier led Albany with two goals... Craig Darby leads Albany with 56 points (17+39) in 62 games... Darby has 12 points (3+9) in his last six games...
