
Petersen and Sivek Score Two Goals Each in 4-3 Win over Hershey

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Saturday, March 8, 2003) - Michal Sivek and Toby Petersen scored two goals each to lead the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-3 win over the Hershey Bears before a crowd of 8,345 at the First Union Arena at Casey Plaza.
The Penguins took a 1-0 lead when Sivek scored his eighth goal of the season at 9:37. A couple of minutes later, Petersen scored his team-leading 23rd goal at 13:33 to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead.
Late in the second period, Petersen scored his second goal of the game and 24th of the season at 14:08 to give the Penguins' a commanding 3-0 lead. Late in the second period, the Bears finally got on the scoreboard as Steve Brule scored his 11th goal at 17:28 to make it a 3-1 game.
The Penguins increased their lead to 4-1 early in the third period when Sivek scored his second goal of the night at 4:30. The Bears rallied and made it interesting as Brian Willsie scored his 29th goal of the season at 4:45 and Brule notched his second goal of the game and 12th of the season at 15:54 to close within a goal.
Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin made 30 saves to improve his record to 2-1, while Peter Budaj stopped 21 of 25 shots in a losing effort.
With the win, the Penguins improved to 28-26-5-5 (68 points), while Hershey fell to 30-22-11-2. The Penguins now trail the second-place Bears by five points in the South Division standings. The two teams meet next Saturday in Hershey.
The Penguins continue their three-game homestand on Monday as they host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:05 p.m. Plenty of tickets are still available for the game.
