MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis offense rallied early and used a strong outing from starting pitcher Brandon Dickson to top Iowa 2-1 Wednesday night at AutoZone Park.

Dickson was sharp in his second win of the year. The right-hander allowed one run on three hits while fanning 10 over a season-best eight innings. After a Luis Valbuena home run, Eduardo Sanchez was summoned from the Redbirds bullpen to record the final three outs and notch his sixth save of the year. Iowa starter Casey Coleman took the loss giving up two runs on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Coleman exited the game shortly after being struck by a line drive in the leg.

The 'Birds offense scored two runs in the fourth inning with the bases loaded. Zack Cox drew a walk to send home Adron Chambers as Bryan Anderson's ground out to the first baseman would plate the final run for Memphis on the night. Chris Swauger led the Redbirds going 2-for-3 in the game.

The Redbirds and I-Cubs square off tomorrow in the series finale with first pitch slated for 12:05 p.m. With the Built Ford Business Special taking place, this day gives working fans an opportunity to watch the baseball game during their lunch hour, sponsored by Ford.
