Diablos split double header against Laredo

El Paso, TX- In a grueling double header the Diablos came away with a split against the Laredo Lemurs, losing the first game 4-3, and then trouncing the Lemurs 8-3 in the second game.

Game one was a hard fought battle, both teams going scoreless through the first two innings, and then trading runs in the next four innings. Going into the seventh inning it looked like the Diablos had the win wrapped up, with two outs and a fly ball to secure the win the Diablos made a costly fielding error, as the Lemurs stole the game winning 4-3 over the Diablos.

Game two proved to be much different; the Diablos would not let the next game slip away, as they dominated the Lemurs for the majority of the game. Starting pitcher Carlos Teller was terrific going 5.0 innings only giving up one run on five hits, to go along with four strikeouts. As the Diablos went in the seventh inning with a commanding 8-1 lead, the win once again looked assured; the Lemurs gave the Diablos a scare though scoring two runs before the Diablos finally closed out the Double header with an 8-3 win.

The Diablos are now 18-41 playing much improved baseball now 7-3 in their last 10 games. The Diablos play game three of their four game series against the Lemurs tomorrow night; 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
