AMARILLO, TX - Two comebacks in one game were not enough for the Sox against the Kansas City T-Bones as they fall 14-13 at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium. Cory Patton blew a chance at a third save of the season and acquired his first loss. An attendance of 4,246 witnessed the Sox lose their second game in the series at home. The game lasted three hours and twenty-two minutes in which both teams hit fifteen times each.

The T-Bones scored in the first inning for the third straight game with runs batted in by Matt Padgett, Jairo Perez, and Feliz Molina. Another run scored in the second of Sox starter, Jason Mitchell as Kennard Jones was plated by a passed ball. Perez led off the third with a solo shot to left on the first pitch he saw. After walking a batter and allowing an RBI single, Mitchell was pulled from the game. Matt Larkins faced Jones as his first batter and gave up a two-run homer, making the score 8-0. Larkins would pitch the fourth and fifth innings, allowing two runs in the fifth on a hit and two errors.

The bottom of the fourth was a rally for the Sox. Jorge Delgado singled with one out to start it off and scored two batters later when Cory Patton doubled in him and Chris Grossman. Brandon Jones would single and then Adam DeLaGarza singled in two more runs. DeLaGarza scored on a sacrifice fly to center and with two outs, KC Serna stole second and came around to score after a ricochet off second base went into left field. Serna plowed through catcher, Steve Yoo to cut the deficit; 8-6. Larkins' two runs allowed in the fifth made it 10-6 going into the sixth.

Chandler Barnard came in relief for the sixth and allowed one hit and a walk while giving up no runs. In the bottom of the sixth, Amarillo's Joe Weik hit a two-RBI double, followed by a Jorge Delgado RBI single to make it 10-9. Jose Jimenez recorded three outs in the seventh in relief of T-Bone starter, Shawn Garceau who allowed nine runs, seven earned on nine hits while walking four and striking out two. KC Serna tripled off Jimenez to drive in Brandon Jones, tying the game. Kansas City would retake the lead after Josh Giles issued a walk and gave up a hit in two batters faced in the eighth. Giles' responsibility was Devin Goodwin, who scored when Erik Draxton allowed a sacrifice fly off the bat of Kyle Nichols. Giles pitched a one-two-three seventh as Draxton recorded three outs in three batters faced in the eighth.

Amarillo took a two-run lead in the home half for the first time in the game. Singles by Trey Ford and Joe Weik started off the inning. Ford replaced Chris Valencia who was ejected after grounding out into a double play that ended the third. Fielder's choice groundball drew a throw from Kansas City's shortstop to the plate, but Ford was ahead of the play to tie the game again. Jermel Lomack, in his second at-bat of the game, gave the Sox a 12-11 lead and then Cory Patton's sacrifice fly added another run. It would be Patton to try and close out the ninth.

Luis Rivera singled to start the ninth followed by a walk. Joey Gathright struck out trying to bunt with a full count and then Patton struck out Kennard Jones. Devin Goodwin ruined the moment when he drove in Rivera with a single. The next batter, Matt Padgett doubled to right center to give the T-Bones their one-run lead into the bottom of the ninth. Chad Robinson (S, 4) allowed one hit in four batters faced while striking out Trey Ford to end it.

Sean Toler (W, 2-2) allowed three runs, two earned on three hits in the eighth for Kansas City. Cory Patton (L, 1-1) gave up three earned runs on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
