El Paso Diablos News Release
El Paso, TX- In an important third game of a four game series, the Diablos come up short against the Laredo Lemurs, losing 7-3 and going down in the series 2-1.
From a pitching stand point it was an excellent start for both teams, starting pitcher Austin Carden was solid going 5.0 innings only giving up three runs, despite the solid pitching the Diablos failed to produce runs despite out hitting the Lemurs 12-11.
Both teams struggled scoring runs throughout the game but the Lemurs exploded scoring for four runs in the ninth to take a commanding 7-1 lead. The game looked all but over, but the Diablos put up a valiant effort in the bottom of the ninth scoring two runs before bowing out to the Lemurs 7-3.
The Diablos are now 17-42 this season with one more game against the Lemurs in their four game series, the Diablos cannot win the series, but they can still split with a win tomorrow. The Diablos play tomorrow night, 6:05 here at Cohen Stadium.
