Everett Silvertips News Release

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Connor Dewar returned from his four-game suspension to tie his season high with four points (2g-2a), helping lead the Everett Silvertips to a 4-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos before 2,275 fans at Credit Union iPlex on Saturday.

Finishing their season-long seven-game road trip at 5-2-0-0 (and at 4-2-0-0 on the East Division trip), the Tips earned payback with a win in the rematch of last year's WHL Championship Series with 14 players who suited up from last season's Finals roster.

Wyatte Wylie engineered a pair of assists from the blueline while Riley Sutter aided the Silvertips with a goal and an assist. Dustin Wolf earned his 10th win of the year with 22 saves, lowered his goals-agianst-average to a league best 1.74 mark, and remained sixth in the league with a .929 save percentage.

UP NEXT:The Tips return home on Friday, Nov. 2 against the Tri-City Americans at 7:35 p.m. (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App / WHL Live). Tickets are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.

Dewar tore through the Swift Current defense and a facing up Ben King for a shorthanded goal just 2:15 into the game for a 1-0 lead. Dewar took a Wyatte Wylie feed at center, accelerated as he entered the offensive zone, drove past King and tucked a forehand bid past Isaac Poulter.

Tanner Nagel leveled the game at 1-1, 11:49 into the game when he stashed a rebound at the left post and the Tips kept the game balanced on a save by Dustin Wolf late in the second period with the Broncos on a power play. The Tips immediately turned the puck up ice for a 2-1 lead and Dewar, speeding into the offensive zone at the right wing, slipped a cross-ice pass to a cutting Gianni Fairbrother for his first goal of the season and the Tips second shorthanded goal of the night with 3:06 left in the second period.

Owen Blocker, whistled for a four minute penalty after a slew footing infracntion drawn by Riley Sutter, gave the Tips an opportunity early in the third period and Dewar cashed in for his second goal. He took Wylie's feed at the right circle and hammered a one-timer past Poulter just 15 seconds into the period for a 3-1 lead.

Dewar then found Riley Sutter for a center ice, empty net goal with 1:25 left in regulation for the final Tips goal of the night.

Poulter, appearing in only his fourth game of the season, stopped 37 shots.
