
ICE Finish Three-Game Homestand against Rebels

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (4-6-2-1) conclude a three-game homestand when it welcomes the Red Deer Rebels (9-4-1-0) to Western Financial Place on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT.
Sunday's game is being dubbed Halloween Funday, presented by Ktunaxa Nation, where ICE Country is encouraged to wear its best costume ahead of October 31. As part of all Family Funday games, there will be a Jo McKinstrie REK Photo Booth, Painted Frog Face Painters and an Autograph Alley presented by Tim Hortons following the game.

The ICE are coming off of a 7-2 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday, October 26. Cam Hausinger and Cole Muir scored the goals for the ICE while Brett Davis and Nolan Orzeck picked up the assists. Muir's goal was a shorthanded marker in the third period, the first 'shorty' of the season for the ICE. Goaltender Duncan McGovern stopped 24-of-30 shots that came his way before being relieved by Jesse Makaj, who stopped 6-of-7 shots. The ICE outshot Edmonton 41-37. They went 1-for-5 on the power play, 2-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 33-of-57 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 11 points this season, which is good for fifth in the Central Division and ninth in the Eastern Conference.
The ICE have a home record of 4-3-1.

The Red Deer Rebels visit the Kootenay ICE for the first time this season on Sunday, October 28. The Rebels enter Sunday's contest with victories in four of the last five games. Following Sunday's game, the Rebels will have five days off before visiting the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday, November 3. The Rebels don't play at home next until Friday, November 16.
The Rebels are coming off of a 4-3 overtime victory over the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, October 26. Brandon Hagel scored two goals while Jeff de Wit and Alex Morozoff added the others. Goaltender Ethan Anders stopped 23-of-26 shots that came his way. The Rebels outshot Saskatoon 48-26. They went 0-for-3 on the power play, 3-for-3 on the penalty kill and won 33-of-61 face-offs.
The Rebels have collected 19 points this season, which is good for first in the Central Division and second in the Eastern Conference.
The Rebels have a road record of 2-3-1-0.
HEAD TO HEAD
This is the second meeting of the season between the ICE and the Rebels. The first occurred on October 20, with the Rebels picking up a 4-3 overtime victory on home soil.
These two teams meet six times during the 2018-19 regular season. The next meeting will be November 17 in Red Deer.
