Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Trenton, NJ- For just the second-time this season and the first on the road, the Kalamazoo Wings weren't able to generate any offense and were shut out by the Trenton Devils 2-0.

Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the opening 20 minutes. Trenton outshot Kalamazoo 11-6 in the first period and both teams went 0-for-1 with a man-advantage.

Breaking the gridlock in the second period, the Devils were able to capitalize on their third power-play on the night with a tally from J.S. Berbue (19th). After the initial save from Ryan Nie, Berube was able to find the loose puck and slid it just past the goal line at the 11:36 mark of the period.

Berube (10th) put the game away late in the third period, scoring his second goal of the night with an empty-netter with 8.2 seconds remaining.

Finding no way to break through the Devils trapping defense, the K-Wings were shutout for just the second time this season.

Nie stopped 36 shots in the loss, while Shane Connelly made 27 saves for the victory.
