LOWELL, Mass. - Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau notched his second hat trick of the season for the Hartford Wolf Pack, but it was the Lowell Devils skating to the 4-3 victory on Sunday at the Tsongas Center. It was a three-goal second period that helped the Devils pull away from the Wolf Pack and pull within one point of the third-place Manchester Monarchs in the Atlantic Division.

With the match knotted at one aside after the first period, Lowell took a lead they would never relinquish when Matt Halischuk beat Chad Johnson on a breakaway at 2:01 of the second.

Less than three minutes later, Tim Sestito freed up a puck at center ice that Michael Swift skated into the Hartford end before lifting a wrist shot into the top right corner to make it 3-1 for the Devils.

A wild last minute of the second period would see the two teams exchange power play goals. Parenteau pulled the Wolf Pack within one at 19:08 with a one-timer from the near circle on Corey Locke's pass across the goal mouth.

A tussle after the marker would send Brodie Dupont to the box and give the Devils a 5-on-4 advantage. The Devils took back their two-goal cushion with only.6 seconds remaining until the intermission as Ben Walter dug out a loose puck in the slot and pushed it past Johnson for his 18th goal of the season.

Parenteau completed his three-goal night and a 2-for-5 effort on the power play, firing his own rebound past Jeff Frazee with 4:45 left in the third.

Lowell posted the first of its two power play markers in the game and took a 1-0 lead when Nick Palmieri tipped Matt Taormina's point shot inside the near post at 3:32 of the first frame.

Locke would find Parenteau in front at 7:06 of the same period to tie the game, 1-1.

Frazee picked up his 13th win of the season with a 27-save performance.
