PEORIA, Ill. (February 28, 2010) - Milwaukee goaltender Mark Dekanich stopped all 34 Rivermen shots on Sunday afternoon as the Admirals defeated the Peoria Rivermen 4-0 at Carver Arena. It was the third shutout for Dekanich this season and the highest shot total of any of those games.

Peoria controlled play in the opening 20 minutes as they outshot the Admirals 14-3 in the first. Milwaukee failed to register a shot against Ben Bishop in the first 10 minutes of the game. Bishop finished with 23 saves on 27 shots and suffered his sixth loss in his last seven starts.

The second period turned around for the Admirals as Reid Cashman opened the scoring just 2:46 into the frame. Hugh Jessiman's slapshot bounced off Bishop's blocker and Cashman found the open puck and net to shoot Milwaukee out in front. Mark Santorelli added his 11th of the year with 2:13 left in the period.

Milwaukee refused to let the Rivermen back in the game with two more goals in the third to take the 4-0 win. Nick Spaling jammed home his fourth of the season at 9:22 on the power play. Colin Wilson tried to force a pass across the slot but when a Rivermen defender broke up the play but the puck bounced to the side of the goal for Spaling.

Ryan Maki cashed in the final tally with 6:59 remaining in regulation. His fourth of the season was assisted by Triston Grant and Wacey Rabbit.

The Rivermen were 0-for-3 on the power play while the Admirals picked up a goal on just two chances.

Peoria continues their three-game home stand on Thursday when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 p.m. The Lake Erie Monsters will come to Carver Arena on Saturday before the Rivermen head on the road for a seven-game trip.
