Corpus Christi Hooks News Release

CORPUS CHRISTI - Hooks pitcher Chris Devenski and first baseman Conrad Gregor will sign autographs and visit with fans between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Portland Whataburger Friday.

Portland's Whataburger is located at 1010 Wildcat Drive off US 181 and KFTX-FM has scheduled a live remote broadcast.

A portion of the lunch proceeds benefits Goodwill Industries of South Texas. Bring your gently-used clothing items, place in the large fry box and pick up a voucher for a new 2015 Hooks/Goodwill t-shirt and a special offer coupon from Whataburger.

Devenski, 24, is the reigning Hooks pitcher of the month. The Cal State Fullerton product pitched five hitless frames against the Arkansas Travelers in a combined rain-shortened no-hitter last Friday. During May, Devenski went 4-0 with a 0.55 ERA in six starts, while holding opponents to a .213 batting average. His overall earned run average of 0.59 ranks second in all of minor league baseball. Devenski (6-0) tops the Texas League in victories.

Gregor, 23, played collegiately at Vanderbilt with Corpus Christi second baseman Tony Kemp. In 46 games this season, Gregor is hitting .279 with 12 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 23 RBIs. Gregor was selected by Houston in the fourth round of the 2013 draft.
