Colorado Rapids News Release

The Colorado Rapids Development Academy U-17s won their group in the Generation adidas Cup Regional Qualifiers, punching their ticket to play in Division 1 of the 2020 Generation adidas Cup Finals at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas later this spring. This is the second time in club history that the Rapids U-17s have qualified to compete in the top division.

"Winning our group was fantastic, and I'm proud and happy for the boys," U-17 head coach Erik Bushey said. "Qualifying for the Champions Division was always the goal. Competing against top MLS academies and some of the world's best clubs will only aid in our efforts to develop the next generation of Homegrown Players."

The U-17s secured the top spot with a 1-0 win over Portland Timbers U-17s on Monday. Macky Swett scored off a penalty kick that was earned by Vladimir Walent. On Saturday, the side notched a crucial 3-0 win over FC Dallas U-17s.
