
Details for Storm Chasers' Husker Night on May 12 Revealed

OMAHA - The Storm Chasers have announced full details for Husker Night on Thursday, May 12. Several Cornhuskers football alums, including Alfonzo Dennard, Tony Veland and Steve Warren will be in attendance, along with new women's basketball head coach and former Nebraska guard Amy Williams. Veland will be in attendance that evening on behalf of Teammates Mentoring, who will be the Community Organization of the Night.
A limited number of special ticket packages for that night's game currently remain available, which includes a limited edition Storm Chasers hat in Cornhuskers Red colors, along with a Club Seat or Box Seat for one low price. The deadline to purchase the Husker Night Ticket Package is May 11. To purchase or find more information on the package, please visit www.omahastormchasers.com/themenights.
The current list of those expected to be on hand that evening at Werner Park includes:
- Zack Bowman, cornerback, football, 2005-07
- Alfonzo Dennard, defensive back, football, 2008-11
- Ciante Evans, cornerback, football, 2010-13
- Jamal Turner, wide receiver, football 2011-15
- Tony Veland, safety, football, 1991-95 (two-time NCAA National Champion)
- Eric Warfield, cornerback, football, 1994-97 (two-time NCAA National Champion)
- Steve Warren, nose tackle, football, 1996-99 (1997 NCAA National Champion)
- Walter Pitchford, forward, men's basketball, 2012-15
- Amy Williams, head coach, women's basketball, 2016-Present, guard, 1994-98
The current Storm Chasers roster also features a Cornhuskers alum in left-hander Brian Duensing, who pitched for Nebraska from 2002-05. The lefty helped lead the school to the 2005 College World Series, playing alongside future Royals Gold Glove outfielder and 2015 Storm Chasers outfielder Alex Gordon, as well as ten-year Major League veteran pitcher and 2015 Storm Chasers hurler Joba Chamberlain.
Fans are encouraged to wear their Huskers red for that evening's contest. It is also Thirsty Thursday that evening at the ballpark, with drink specials including $2 Bud and Bud Lights and $1 Pepsi fountain drinks.
First pitch for Thursday, May 12 is slated for 6:35 p.m. at Werner Park, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and parking lots open for tailgating at 4:30 p.m. Tickets for that evening are still available and can be purchased at www.omahastormchasers.com/tickets or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100.
