Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees hitting woes continued on Wednesday night, as they fell 3-1 to the Tacoma Rainiers. The Bees have managed just one run on seven hits in each of the three games of the series. The lone run for Salt Lake came in the sixth inning on a solo home run by Sherman Johnson, which was the first hit of his Triple-A career. Tacoma grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first on a solo homer by Boog Powell, who would later drive home the final two runs with a third inning double.

Salt Lake starter Kyle Kendrick (1-1) took the loss, but threw his best game as a Bee. He went seven innings and allowed three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. Gregorio Petit had two hits for the Bees in his first game back off of the disabled list. Salt Lake has now lost five consecutive games for the first time this season.
